Ointments and Liniments
- medicines to sooth the skin. The difference between ointments and liniments is largely in their consistencies. An ointment is a semisolid medicinal preparation in a base of fatty or greasy material. A liniment is a liquid or semi-liquid medicinal preparation in a base of alcohol or oil.
In the home of the author an ointment used to treat plant poisoning of the skin, burns, and itching has been made for many years from an old, handed-down formula which contains: white oak bark, black oak bark, red sumac berries, buttonsnake root, mallow root, borax, and eucalyptole in a base of wax, benne oil, and petrolatum. Note that the formula contains the astringent qualities of the oaks and sumacs, the healing properties of borax and eucalyptole, and the carrying mediums of oil and petrolatum.
Oxytocic

Papaya - a world class meat tenderizer, natural digestive aid, prevents ulcers, and also a soft contact lense cleaner.
