Hallucinogen
- any drug which causes hallucinations. Mescaline, a drug made from the cactus me scat or peyote, is an example.
Hemorrhage
- a copious loss of blood which can quickly cause loss of life. Some Indian tribes are said to have utilized the dried spores of the puffball fungus as a hemostat, the fineness of the dust causing the blood to coagulate quickly. A bandage utilizing wrung-out sphagnum moss will absorb a lot of blood and apparently has some “built-in” germicidal effect.
Hepatics
- substances which affect the liver harmfully or correctively.
Hydragogue
- a cathartic that causes a watery discharge from the bowels.
Papaya - a world class meat tenderizer, natural digestive aid, prevents ulcers, and also a soft contact lense cleaner.
