Carminatives
- herbs which act to reduce flatulence; a piece of mint after dinner is a mild carminative. Other herbs which, separately or together, are used for this purpose include anise, caraway, cloves, dill, ginger, and other aromatic spices.
Cathartics
- medicines which relieve constipation; purgatives. Laxatives stimulate and quicken peristaltic action, while cathartics stimulate the secretions of the intestines, often with strong physical manifestations.
Cholagogues
- medicines which promote the discharge of bile from the system.
Chorea
- a nervous disorder characterized by twitchings such as in Saint Vitus’s dance.
Cordial
- of, or relating to, the heart.
Corroborants
- those medicines which are invigorating, specifically tonics.
Papaya - a world class meat tenderizer, natural digestive aid, prevents ulcers, and also a soft contact lense cleaner.
